Hockanum Industries:

• Accepts the responsibility to provide gainful work opportunities and retirement options for developmentally disabled adults.

• Believes all developmentally disabled individuals have the right to employment and an active retirement.

• Believes each individual shall be actively involved in decisions regarding their employment and retirement.

• Shall enter into contracts with business and industry to provide a reliable, competitive work force.

• Shall provide support and training for success in each individual’s experience.

• Shall hire and train staff to assist in meeting the needs and goals of the developmentally disabled individuals served.

• Shall maintain appropriate contact with the Department of Mental Retardation, residential providers, families, and guardians to ensure that individual needs are being addressed.

• Shall work as an advocate on behalf of developmentally disabled individuals and their families/guardians.

• Shall continually review its organization and program offering to accurately reflect the needs of the community and the population served.

• Shall ensure that each individual is treated with respect and dignity.
